Jareducation

What’s really sad is it never got weird enough for me. . . Lazlo and Nixon are both gone now, but I don’t think I’m going to believe that ’til I can gnaw on their skulls with my very own teeth. . . If they’re out there, I’m going to find them, and I’m going to gnaw on their skulls. Because it still hasn’t gotten weird enough for me. - Hunter S. Thompson

Must Read

Posted on | October 19, 2008 |

I will be buying or checking some of Mr. Levy’s books from the library soon. This is a must read interview, and has some good ideas on Mr. Obama. I decided finally last week that I would vote for Obama, and not with my hardened principles. A vote for Nader may be the more liberal vote and he probably represents my interest better. But, he does not hold the hope for this country and for the world that Obama does. He is a centrist and has pandered to the center in this race, as could be reasonably have been expected. But, he will be a healing power, and if he can accomplish the major things he promises on energy, the war and health care, he will have an incredibly successful first term. May he win two.

Salon interview with Bernard-Henri Levy.

    Ha!

I was just about to email you this article I read in Der Spiegel:
    http://www.spiegel.de/international/zeitgeist/0,1518,585119,00.html

But I guess you found it in another forum.

I read his American Vertigo a few years back…he tries to pull a de Tocqueville “Democracy in America” and does pretty well. I think his two books on the New Barbarism would be interesting reads as well, whenever I get access to English books again.

Btw, four books down in 16 days. Pretty good, no?
