Jareducation

What’s really sad is it never got weird enough for me. . . Lazlo and Nixon are both gone now, but I don’t think I’m going to believe that ’til I can gnaw on their skulls with my very own teeth. . . If they’re out there, I’m going to find them, and I’m going to gnaw on their skulls. Because it still hasn’t gotten weird enough for me. - Hunter S. Thompson

Thompson on the radio

The TV business is uglier than most things. It is normally perceived as some kind of cruel and shallow money trench through the heart of the journalism industry, a long plastic hallway where thieves and pimps run free and good men die like dogs, for no good reason.

–Hunter S. Thompson

My favorite man to quote, this I found pasted in a window of the KPFA offices. Only, the one I saw reads: “The radio business is a cruel . . . It also has a negative side.”

I found out that he didn’t say that. The exact quote is about TV, and I think it more fitting. Also, the last line is funny, but not Thompson. Someone else added that later.

The original quote was published in the San Francisco Examiner in 1985. People have changed the quote to be radio, corporate communications, music and show business. Insert what you’d like.
